Committees
The Executive Committee oversees the general operations and strategic direction of the board. Additionally, the Executive Committee assumes the responsibilities of several specialized committees, specifically:

Strategic Planning Committee
The mission of the Early Care and Education (ECE) Committee is to nurture developmentally appropriate practices by teaming with families of children from zero to eight years old. The committee:

Focuses on the needs of expectant families, those with infants & toddlers, and the care providers who serve this age group.

Examines issues relevant to families with preschool and elementary-school age children.
These special event planning committees are responsible for organizing and executing Family Fun Fest and Family Nature Palooza. Family Fun Fest occurs in March and Family Nature Palooza occurs in June of each year.
The Safe Children’s Network (SCN) provides information to the community on ways to prevent childhood injuries. SCN participates in the community "Back to School Bash" and the offers an Annual Bike Rodeo. Additionally, this committee collaborates with the PA State Police, IUP Institute for Rural Health and Safety, and Citizen’s Ambulance to promote car seat safety.
Media & Marketing will promote the CAC, CAC committees, CAC family events, CAC member agencies, and community information and events through various social media platforms
Interested in Joining A Committee?
Everyone on the Children’s Advisory Commission is responsible for participating on at least one committee. However, community members or representatives from child and family serving organizations can apply to join a committee at any time.
